In 2019, Desai participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 13 where she finished as a 3rd runner up and was the highest paid contestant. In 2017, she played Shorvori Bhanushali in the drama series Dil Se Dil Tak. She also participated in Box Cricket League in March 2016. She later played an important character in &TV's Adhuri Kahaani Hamari until 2016. She later entered Colors TV's Ishq Ka Rang Safed where she played a negative role of Tulsi. The judges had found out after she posted a picture of herself with actor Nakuul Mehta.
She faced criticism from other contestants after she lied saying she had injured herself. She then participated in Nach Baliye 7 with her spouse Nandish Sandhu and they became finalists. In 2012, Desai participated in the dance reality TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 which aired on Colors TV. She has featured in reality shows such as Comedy Circus, Maha Sangram, Zara Nachke Dikha, Crime Patrol, Big Money, Kitchen Champion Season 2, Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala. On 7 November 2012, she returned to Uttaran in positive shades but left the show again in 2014.
In March 2012 she opted out of Uttaran as she didn't believe she could portray an older role after the leap.
In 2009, she entered Colors TV's longest running show, Uttaran where she played the negative role of Tapasya. She later did an cameo appearance in the show Ssshhhh.Phir Koi Hai. She later appeared in the show Pari Hoon Main where she played the role of Pari.
